Ghost app on Android

Here I'm posting this from Ghost app(previously Quill) on my smartphone. What I like on this mobile app is, Ghost has maintained the same look and feel of their Web app here also, which is great ? In another note, I'd like to think, thus far I had a productive Saturday morning in completing a major piece of work for the day job. In that, I managed to draw up the Task List for the next medium size pilot implementation project which will have to be completed in next two weeks.
Additionally, I also finished the prep notes for one on one meeting with the leader, though he has sent me a meeting reschedule notification earlier this morning. Am hoping he would at least have a read at my prep po notes with some interest tomorrow unlike in recent weeks.
In short while, I will have to drive out to drop Daya off at the train station. I will perhaps have a glass of wine when I come back completing that task.

New Habit...

Reading an article published by Annie McKee in a recent HBR suggested that we need to pay attention to our feelings & moods. She talked about negative emotions such as fear, frustration, and anger signal that something is really wrong with oneself. She aserts that, most time we overemphasize these kind of feelings in our minds and therefore, it helps to examine them and to make a concerted effort to tap into and emphasize the postive emotions that support well-being and postive emotions. In the article McKee suggests an advance review of the coming work week. 1

So, here we go…

My Upcoming week - Feb 25th to March 1st,2018
What's getting my attention? What do I look forward to?

  • CAT360 2 Auto Meal Order Application feature promote - I'm really excited about this & happy,as I had the opportinity to contribut lots as regards to feature set that would be promoted with the enhancements.
  • I'm also look forward to initiating a few meaningful actions in the Project Plan, that I drew up for implementation of the Pilot Phase of above application feature in the operations.I feel particularly happy that I managed to draw up the Project Plan in detail earlier this morning, working from home.
  • To update the User Reference Guides
  • By the end of next week, I will also make sure everything in place for A380 Economy Class SPML loading distribution flight trials.
  • I might as well spend some time on the Kitchen shop floor to check about Kit Bags packing process, as it needs some attention as well as before I request my team to follow up of FA Reports,I thought, it is important me to understand the process thoroghly myself. I look forward to that.

What am I anxious about or rather avoid?

  • Not too sure I'm very excited about one on one meeting with the boss tomorrow.Though I've prepared for it with my notes & sorts, I feel he might even not look at it with any interest. This feeling is perhaps becuase in the recent past weeks, he did not display any interest on my pre notes. I had felt making notes prior to the meeting, most of the times on my weekend is completely waste of time!

Stevie encounter

I don't have much life dreams that I'd want to fulfill. But,on May 14th,2008 visiting the Mothership and in my walk around inside the campus and quite unexpectedly bumping into Steve Jobs was indeed like a dream come true! Stevie was walking right opposite towards my direction with Johnny. I almost felt like stopping him and talk to him. As it was not allowed to carry any cameras inside the campus, there wasn't any photographic opportunities either. However, at the end of my tour inside the campus and when I walked out, I spotted him seated in a bench just outside the campus. It did not take much time for me to pull out my point & shoot camera and take a photo, even though it was at a distance. The random dude who walked passed in front of me made the photograph even more natural, I think. I even have collage on my room wall about my trip to Apple!

10C

Earlier this morning there has been some discussion on Cappuccino timeline about matigo's plan of developing a new version of 10C that would support indieweb. From what I gathered from the posts,it sound like there would be some interesting enhancements coming along, including capability to have multiple personas within a single account sign-on, crossposting from different personas, some improvements to To Dos etc.

Later in the afternoon I asked a few questions from matigo to get some clarifications about these enhancements and his immediate response was the new version of 10C (10Cv5) is going to be based on self-hosting rather than being able to access from mobile platforms and desktop as I've been doing since I joined 10C a couple of years back. When I heard this, I got very dissappointed & sad, as I have no knowledge and skills of self-hosting department. So I conveyed my message to matgo on Cappuccino. He responded to to give assurance that hosted solution will there to say for next 990 years. Now, that is very encouraging and futuristic, I must say!

Accident

For the 1st time, since my car was purchased about 6-7 years back, this morning a stupid drunken countryman hit my car in the front. He reversed his vehicle way too fast, while I too were reversing to park the car in the vacant parking slot at the grocery store near by. Though I honked the horn, he either did not hear or did not give any attention.

I was so shocked and angry that the guy argued with me as if it was my fault. He kept on saying that I should have honk he horn… It appeared that he was in a middle of a alcohol drinking session some where and had driven to the grocery store to buy some stuff. I felt sorry about the guy as he was not in his good frame of mind & sense, I did not want to call the authorities. Beside, there wasn't neither dent nor a damage to my car, except, it left a few scratches on the front bumper. If I had called the authorities, the guy would've been in deeper trouble for being drunk In the midst of shock & anger, it even did not occur to my mind to note down his vehicle plate number for any future reference! 20180217_121732.jpg ![car scratches.jpg]

My quick thoughts on 10C

Earlier this morning there has been some discussion on Cappuccino timeline about matigo's plan of developing a new version of 10C that would support indieweb. From what I gathered from the posts,it sound like there would be some interesting enhancements coming along, including capability to have multiple personas within a single account sign-on, crossposting from different personas, some improvements to To Dos etc.

I have no idea about the technology behind 10C and all what I look forward to is being able to continue what I have been enjoying on 10C offerings and from what I read,it's going to be interesting times!

Okay Day

Day job at HQ today. Five Meetings were in the schedule. One got cancelled with a couple of hours notice. Two out of Four, which I facilitated, I walked away with decisions made and Action Items agreed. Feel good! The other two ended up with nothing! All the time I had put to prep for the last two meetings were just waste of productive time, to say the least.

Was being productive in the 1st half of the day, working on SPML Project progress and breifing ODM crew an a collague of their tasks & what is expected. Later, facilitate the meeting with clear & specific objectives and decsions made & action items agreed. Haven't sent out the Meeting Notes yet though, which I'm hoping to achieve tomorrow. There was also an opportunity this morning for coaching of a collague in strucured way of working, which was great.

The 1st Meeting

This afternoon, we had our 1st meeting with the new divisional leader. Meeting lasted two & half hours and lots of topics were discussed and questions were asked by the leader. A few notable themes that stood out were, not in any particular order though

  • Galley Plans 3600 packing lists…?
  • Variance in Dry Boxes & Beverage Trolleys
  • Bar Coding VS Color Coding
  • Aged economy class product
  • Water cup inside a Tea Cup…?
  • Need of change in the product offered - more food - 400 grams!
  • Oven space
  • Carrying Champagne from here to Europe & back - weight, carbon footprint
  • Biodegradable material
  • Too many Projects, too much steam, nothing get delivered

Overall, the new leader displayed simplicity, structure and need to act fast! He also gave us the indication that need of questioning the status quo , though he did not use exact words.

I walked out of the meeting room with the intention of taking initiative and driving two items from the above list.

  • To find out facts about oven inserts discussed at the meeting
  • To explore how could we have color coded labels

Without much waiting, I got on with my facts findings immediately, next day morning by visiting to the kitchen, inspecting, measuring and taking photos of three different type of oven inserts and finally emailing to Delphinios,Cadmus
. Not that, I'd want a pat on the back from him for such a simple task; but up until this moment, he has not even acknowledged the email.
It has also been the same with the dolour coded labels; even after I had personally spoken to another department and initiating discussions on how could we pursue developing a dolour coded labels and completed the required Product Review Brief form. Anyway, when I informed all what I have done to the Cadmus, his immediate words to me was "don't meddle with the paddle" - I think he must have referred to the bar coding project which is in progress. My response was that, it's not that I'm meddling with anything; but just doing the initial research, to which he did not show any interest.

In the Kitchen

Spent almost the entire day in the Kitchen. 1st day after Bryan's retirment. Discussed & assigned 80+ FA Reports, Meeting with SF to brief & obtain his agreement for placemats that are being considered for a new service offering in permium cabin.
I followed a new style of discussing the FA Reports- by sub-categories as it gives a way to draw out trends immediately. For instance, for last 3 days, there have been a trend of reports on flowers & new microwave jugs. It took about an hour to finished Reports for the weekend.

As for the nee product item - placemats, there seems a quite a few challenges/concerns as it does require significant amount of manual processing. Will be able to get more feedback after the forthcoming trials will be completed by towards the end of the month.

One thing that has been troubling my mind for the day was whether we were going to well manage the meal ordering during planned computer program outage in the early afternoon. This feeling was particularly becuase I wasn't very confident and pleased with the level of pre-planning done by my collagues. Anyway, until the time I left work, I hadn't not heard any issues with it. That's said, as it does normally happens in the business, you hear about any issues only after a few days of the event. So, will have to wait & see!
