Electricity man had to stop and go out to either bring or return some of his tools twice in less than hour he arrived to perform work.

There are a couple of options that you could choose from, depending on how much money you want to spend and how automated you would like the entire process to be.
No single solution is perfect for everyone.

One option that you might consider is having your iMac be the central TimeMachine for every Mac in the house,
@matigo Talking about DDM, I’m yet to listen to your most recent one about backups. Because I still haven’t been able to find a suitable solution for backing up my computers. I have a 1TB external drive connected to iMac I think I set up for time machine though. I’m not sure that’s enough. I haven’t got much important stuff on my computers though except perhaps photos which are in iCloud
